Pull technology is searching for information using the internet such as search engines. The information is not automatically displayed for you but rather must be researched.
Push technology has information readily available for you, all data is automatically sent to your computer, like news events or posts you might have subscribed to.
RSS- the little orange button you see at blogs or user accounts. Clicking this button will automatically update you on any events or blogs you subscribe to without checking on it periodically.
